Vehicle development
The best car is only as good as its tuning
Formula One cars hardly differ in their design; all have double wishbone suspension systems with complex spring-damper elements. This is where the art of the perfect setup comes in. That is why Sauber Engineering operates ‘Vehicle Development’: a highly developed test system for optimising the suspension settings for individual race tracks.
High-tech infrastructure, highly competent employees
Each wheel stands on a plate that simulates the ride using hydraulic movements controlled by precise track data, including vehicle dynamics, the movements and the forces of the car itself. Sensors record every detail and deliver large amounts of data to be evaluated. The know-how of our employees is of central importance because ultimately it is the person who decides by which nuance a damper or the spring height is to be adjusted in order to improve the driving behaviour measurably.
